The theme for this weeks IF is swamp and I interpreted the topic pretty literally and decided to make an old shack in the middle of a swamp. I wish I could of spent more time on his because looking at it now some things appear a little "wonky" (for lack of a better word ), but for the most part, I am satisfied. :) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIKmSwJkNJs 00:54-1:56 was my inspiration :P )
I am a studio art major, and am currently attending Santa Rosa Junior College. My interests include animation, illustration, cartooning, and photography. This is a blog for posting my student work, sketches and various doodles.

Life Drawings
I had posted some life drawings here a few months ago where I was referencing from slides from a figure/gesture drawing site, however now that I am taking an actual course, I feel like I have improved so much since then (when I didn't really know what I was doing). I really enjoy the class, and I hope to post more life drawings soon!
But for now here is some of my class work thus far (go easy on me I'm still a beginner :P)

IF: Shades
I actually started this before I knew what this weeks topic was, but I think it works because of the various shades of color used to make the reflections on the ground. I only realized after I scanned it that the umbrella looks a little too large but oh well, maybe it's a golf umbrella :P

IF: Fluid
The word fluid makes me think of water and motion, so I created a composition that combined those two ideas, and naturally I felt that watercolor would be the perfect medium for this weeks topic. I haven't painted anything in a while so I was getting a little frustrated, and at one point was going to throw it away! But after working with it for a while, I managed to pull through and make something that I'm happy with :) . Also Happy late year of the dragon!

More Victorian's!
This is just a short post of something I was working on over the break. I think my understanding of perspective is getting better although this particular drawing didn't involve much perspective, but still I'm getting more comfortable with it and I feel that my work is showing more confidence every time I practice something a little more challenging. But hey! That's the only way to learn :)

First post of the New Year!
Hello! And Happy New Year! (even though it feels a little late to be saying that : P). My new years resolution this year was to make a sketch everyday (I'm proud to say that I've been keeping up with my resolution thus far but I can't say what will happen once the new semester starts!) Recently I've been feeling that I have been getting a little rusty on some basic drawing techniques like perspective, and so wanting to challenge myself and make something interesting, I sketched a Victorian house using two point perspective, with the help of some reference photos that I found off of Flickr (Although I did make up the background).

After finishing my sketch I decided to try out my brush tip pens I got for Christmas!
And here is what I'm currently working on! Hopefully I'll have some more sketches to post soon!

IF: Stripes
Here's my new Illustration for this week. The theme was "Stripes", and well since I have already drawn a zebra, I figured I would make a tiger for this week. Oh and don't worry he's a friendly tiger : P
